Edelsten is believed to be interested in purchasing Double Island, off the coast of Cairns, after jetting up with his wife Brynne to inspect the property last weekend.
‘Definitely, yes, he is interested,’ a spokesman for Dr Edelsten said yesterday. ‘He absolutely inspected it. He and Brynne inspected it together.’
Double Island is described as one of Australia’s most exclusive islands: ‘An almost untouched tropical oasis fringed by pristine white sands and vivid blue ocean.’
A 10-minute boat ride from Palm Cove, the island features a small, exclusive resort consisting of 12 villas, a lagoon-style 25m heated swimming pool and spa, conference facilities, library, gymnasium, restaurant, movie room, and a games room.
